GCL ART

I am an artist working in painting and photography and resides by the sea in Jutland.

I was born in 1966 in Denmark. I studied painting (Odd Moe) and drawing (Aage Arbjerg) at Randers Art School 1987-1988 and painting (Peter Biehl) at Thorstedlund Art School 1989. I also studied art history, design and philosophy at Copenhagen University 2005-2010. Currently I study painting (Jørgen Mikael Andersen) at Ranum Art School.

In 1985 I began to paint and in 2010, I began to photograph digitally.

I have also during the years created a few sculptures.

My digital photography work sometimes takes the form of photo collage and a painterly approach, but every image I edit has its own intrinsic identity. I listen to myself and go into a kind of ‘play’ with both the photo and the medium.

Recently I have started shooting BW film with a Rollei 35 TE camera.

My work is always in process; I like to try and learn new things.

Portrait Passage

In 2011 I decided to focus on portrait photography process, and I call this work ‘Portrait Passage’ to identify it as a journey with oneself.

Paintings

I paint with acrylic and oil on canvas or watercolor paper and experiment with collage techniques.
